Lucy Wallingford’s new blog BelizeAdventure.com recently had a post about traveling to Belize from Cancun by bus. It describes Charlie Woodard’s travel as he landed in Cancun,Mexico and took different buses on a two day trip to Chetumal,Mexico. He then connected with a scheduled bus to Belize for connections to their Eco-tourist Island on Long Caye. At their Belize Adventure Tours they have sea kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling and private cabannas. Since longCaye is a private Island they have exclusive use of the island.
On Lucy’s blog I commented that I had made the trip in reverse. I left Progresso Village by private car and went to the ADO bus station. My friends returned to Belize and the bus left Chetumal about 9:00pm that night and arrived in Cancun early that next morning. I transfered to a shuttle bus for the airport and arrived in time to make the checkin for the early flight to Houston,Texas.
I have checked and there are flights from Chetumal to Mexico City, Mexico for international flight connections. Also there are buses(for bus people), that with connections, can travel to the U.S. border in Texas.
